I'm glad the small group discussion worked for you. Another thing that faculty can do is rotate the groups so that everyone gets a chance to work with different people. It's challenging to establish relationships in an online program, but that's one way to get everyone to interact. Thanks for your comment, Kris!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16070474088873183108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388288749122356705.post-24569825642078458802012-07-01T22:12:47.358-04:002012-07-01T22:12:47.358-04:00One problem I experienced with online classes was ...One problem I experienced with online classes was being overwhelmed by having to read all discussion forum posts by the other 60 students. In one class, however, the professor divided us up into small groups. Each small group discussed the week's reading material and then took turns sharing a summary of the group's conversation with the class at large. Much more manageable and effective.Krishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14353884253656045937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388288749122356705.post-88944571596022516722011-08-12T20:13:04.038-04:002011-08-12T20:13:04.038-04:00No disrespect taken, however, I don't think yo...No disrespect taken, however, I don't think you know me. And, as life is a series of twists and turns, I expect I will change my mind at some point. Heck, if I were meant to stay on one straight track, I wouldn't be where I am today! (which is a very good and happy place ; )

Best of luck to you!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16070474088873183108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388288749122356705.post-57943505192402573002011-08-12T18:57:40.657-04:002011-08-12T18:57:40.657-04:00No disrespect, but this does not surprise me at al...No disrespect, but this does not surprise me at all. While I knew you, you had a tendency to choose a path, then change your mind and jump to another. I hope you can stay on this path, if that is your true choice. We have a young woman in our dojo who just graduated with a Master's in Library Science (is that what you call it?), and is having a difficult time finding a job. Good luck to you, and you have a very nice family.Wholly Unremarkablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13415030640680329540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388288749122356705.post-38034923154121486282011-03-17T08:24:44.507-04:002011-03-17T08:24:44.507-04:00I think I know who you mean!....we usually go to L...I think I know who you mean!....we usually go to Lewisville but I'm going to join the 'friends' group at Central. I can't say that I would have invested in a Sony, though, so for me, it was probably the best choice for getting started. I would recommend the $189 version, though, b/c that has the wi-fi built-in and you can shop & download books from anywhwere. Let me know what you decide...we can loan each other books if you get a Kindle! : )Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16070474088873183108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7388288749122356705.post-50958320902453655512011-01-24T21:22:32.500-05:002011-01-24T21:22:32.500-05:00I have been on the kindle fence. let me know how y...I have been on the kindle fence. let me know how you like it.essbeseehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05745117719761568320noreply@blogger.com
